MARKETING TECHNOLOGY (SENIORS ONLY)
Credit: 4.0 elective
The Marketing Tech program is taught in a completely digital environment. Creating advertising campaigns, learning to sell anything, including yourself, and working on creating a new business of your own are typical projects that students enjoy.
Students work in a paid marketing co-op position for an average of 15 hours each week. Because they are released early to allow them to work, they must provide their own transportation to and from CVCC and their job. This combination of work site and classroom training provides the strongest of all learning options.
We participate in DECA, the association for Marketing students. Through DECA, students take part in activities that take them out of the classroom and into the community where they meet other Marketing students in Northeast Ohio, work with the local Chamber of Commerce, raise funds for class trips, teach others about marketing, and develop relationships with businessmen and women interested in mentoring students. DECA competitions let students demonstrate what they have learned and provide the potential to compete with (and meet) students from around the world.
Students get a taste of the world of business and marketing, earn high school and college credit, and have the opportunity to save their earnings to help them meet their goals. This is all while making new friends, and sampling new experiences in business. They walk out ready for whatever comes next in their life.
