PROGRAMMING & SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Credit: 3.5 elective per year
This program teaches the fundamentals needed for programming software for Web sites, smart devices, business applications, and personal use. Students will learn and use several programming languages, including Visual Basic, C++, Java and XHTML. To be successful in this field, students are encouraged to pursue post-secondary education, earning at least a two-year Associate Degree in a technical field. Course prerequisites include grades of C or better in Keyboarding, Algebra I, and Introduction to Computers or instructor permission.
