About Ms. Ward
Ms. Ward is the Electrical Trades Instructor here at CVCC and has been a teacher here at CVCC for more than eight years. In each of her classes, Ms. Ward uses direct instruction and real-life experiences to provide students with the skills they need to pursue a successful career in the electrical trades industry. Below is a brief program description for Ms. Ward's courses.
ELECTRICAL TRADES •Tech Prep
Credit: 3.5 elective per year
This program provides the fundamentals of installing, servicing, and maintaining residential and industrial wiring systems. In this program, students will develop an understanding of electrical theory and systems, including residential lighting circuits, power circuits and service entrance, minimum requirements of the National Electrical Code, blueprint reading, power calculations, wire estimation, conduits, motor control and more. Students will have many hands-on experiences and computer-based simulations. OSHA 10-hour certification is available.
