About Mr. Bergmann
Mr. Bergmann is the Heating & Air Conditioning Instructor here at CVCC and has been a teacher here at CVCC for more than eight years. In each of his classes, Mr. Bergmann uses direct instruction and real-life experiences to provide students with the skills they need to pursue a successful career in the heating and air conditioning industry. Below is a brief program description for Mr. Bergmann's courses.
HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING •Tech Prep
Credit: 3.5 elective per year
This program prepares students to service residential and light commercial heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. Students study electrical theory and learn to troubleshoot and repair equipment powered by oil, natural gas, and electricity, including central air conditioning, furnaces and heat pumps. Software that simulates environment control and building management activities is also used. Students are prepared for the EPA technician certification examination in refrigerant handling (CFC Section 608) and the National Industry Competency Examination (ICE). Eligible students may be placed in an apprenticeship program monitored by the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training. This program is accredited by the Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA).
