Mr. Lamatrice is the Auto Service Technology Instructor here at CVCC and has been a teacher here at CVCC for more than eighteen years. In each of his classes, Mr. Lamatrice uses direct instruction and real-life experiences to provide students with the skills they need to pursue a successful career in the auto service technology industry. Below is a brief program description for Mr. Lamatrice's courses.

AUTO SERVICE TECHNOLOGY    •Tech Prep
Credit:  3.5 elective per year

This is an NATEF/ASE certified program in which students learn to inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems in late model automobiles.  Students learn to do a complete engine overhaul and to repair all parts of the chassis of an automobile.  Units on the alternator, the starter, and electricity are taught.  Second year students learn to use a computer driven engine analyzer.  This program is taught by Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified instructors and prepares graduates to pass the ASE certification exam.
