Mr. Theodore is the instructor for the Public Health and Safety program at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center. Public Health and Safety is a rapidly growing career field with many diverse occupations. The Junior year focuses on career exploration, including Firefighting, and Emergency Management. Coursework includes Anatomy and Psyiology, Introduction to Fire Protection, and Math for the Fire Service. The senior year focuses on preparing students to take the National Registry of EMT's candidate test. Successful completion of this test leads to an entry level position as an Emergency Medical Technician Basic. Continuing studies in college can lead to a career in Firefighting, Paramedic, Emergency Management, or Industrial Safety and Hygene. This intense program offers up to 38 hours of articulated college credits. Class uniforms are required for the program and are to be worn each day.
